Today, we are going to talk about what the theme is. Theme is part of web design that already creates pages for inspiring ideas and helps you build your own sites. I have evaluated my three different kinds of theme is: Astra, Inspiro, and Twenty Seventeen.
Explaining the source of how to get the theme for websites:
- WordPress Theme – You can go to your website, and in the dashboard, you will see the theme. When you click the theme, you can see your theme already active and plus to add other themes. When you click add theme, ” it will show that there are lots of different styles you can find your theme to match your style.
- Third-Party Marketplaces – You can find other sites from somewhere like ThemeForest and TemplateMonster that have different kinds of styles, so you can find your vibe for your sites. Sometimes you might have to pay or not, depending on what kind you’re getting.
- Custom Themes – You can create your own, or if you have a developer, it will help you. Sometimes you might have to pay a developer because they are creating something for you. If you want a free one, which means you have to create your own design, then upload it to the theme.
List the files in WordPress:
Required Files:
- Styles.css – for the theme metadata and to change the styling rules
- Index.php – in the main part of the page, and repeats other different pages.
- Functions.php – it adds the theme features, registers the menu, and loads the scripts.
Additional Files:
- Header.php – At the top of the display, including the navigation.
- Footer.php – At the bottom of the display, including help support, name, phone number, etc.
- Comments.php – show the comment in the display and the forms.
- Screenshot.php – the image is showing in the dashboard
I evaluated my four criteria of my decision matrix about three themes: Inspiro, Astra, and Twenty Seventeen:

I am choosing the most relevant theme, Inspiro. The reason I am choosing Inspiro is that they have such a beautiful design and are good for my blog about my bakery’s inspiration. Also, the page is showing a full-screen video in the background, with modern layouts and a good responsive design. My Inspiro is already installed.
